Freed from Anger, Filipino Man Praises Jesus!

Bible-based trauma healing uses Scripture to help people heal from trauma

John* had a lot of anger in his heart. Unable to forget hurtful experiences in his past, he became angry. He was imprisoned by his anger and pain. They prevented him from moving forward with his life.

Then John joined a Bible-based trauma healing group. It was there John dealt with the pain that kept him enslaved for so many years.

Using Scripture to Heal the Wounds of Trauma

Philippine Bible Society in partnership with local churches launched Bible-based trauma healing to empower suffering people to find healing in God’s Word. This ministry equips facilitators to restore broken lives using Bible-based curriculum. Through God’s Word, these people find hope.

“The trauma healing program really helped me personally to be free from anger from the trauma I was experiencing. It’s nice because before I thought I was okay. But apparently, I was not. My past experiences were actually traumatic experiences. It was only now when I learned that I needed to deal with those. The trauma healing program helps people who need freedom in their emotions, both mental and even physical”, John said.

Praise God! John has newfound joy in Jesus. His life has been forever changed by God’s Word. Now he desires to help young people who are also wounded and suffering from pain find healing in Scripture.

This is the power of God’s Word! It restores hope to those who are brokenhearted, brings peace to those who are grieving, and heals those who are traumatized. That’s why we need your prayers. We want more people in the Philippines to encounter the hope found in God’s Word. Will you join us in praying?

Pray for:

  • Healing for participants. Pray for Filipinos to be healed from grief, trauma, and loss.
  • Expansion of the trauma healing ministry. At the start of Covid-19, Philippine Bible Society had to move to online healing groups. Pray that many will participate online.
  • Encouragement for facilitators. Ask God to encourage the facilitators as they find new ways of sharing God’s Word with the hurting. Pray for creativity, resources, and joy in doing this ministry.

*Name changed to protect participant’s identity.
