“With this Bible, you are helping young people to know God.”

Transforming young lives in Angola

Abigail* is a beautiful teenage girl growing up in Angola, Africa. Joyfully holding her first Bible in her arms, she exclaims, “To me, the Bible is a precious treasure! Today, I learned that Jesus died for me and my sins. I was never aware of this truth.”

Thanks to our friends, 39,000 Angolan New Testaments were distributed to young people like Abigail through the recent One Million Bibles for Africa campaign. Since poverty is so pervasive in Angola, a Bible is an unaffordable luxury for most. Typically, churches only have one (often incomplete) Bible for the pastor.

Now 28 years old, Ernesto* went to church with his mother as a child, but in his teen years, he began drinking, stealing, and prostituting himself. Thankfully, he returned to his faith a few years ago when he encountered a street evangelist. Ernesto even began ministering to the youth at his church, but without a Bible, it was difficult. “When they called my name to receive the New Testament, my heart was pounding with joy,” he shares. “With this Bible, you are helping young people to know God.”

For 15-year-old Nelson*, receiving his first Bible gave him the confidence to live his faith boldly. “Young people are often lost in the world of prostitution, drugs, pregnancy, and criminality,” he shares. “The Bible helps young people protect themselves from these bad practices.”

Through the Bibles our faithful partners help provide, young people in Angola and all of Africa are committing their lives to Christ.
