Thousands Rally Around Prayer and God’s Word in Washington D.C.

Half a million people gathered for worship on the National Mall.

On July 16 nearly half a million people gathered on the National Mall in Washington D.C. for Together 2016—a day of unified prayer, worship and Bible-based teaching organized by the Christian ministry PULSE. Thanks to the generosity of our financial partners, American Bible Society helped participants engage with God’s Word through a mobile app designed specially for Together 2016. In the week after the event, 25,000 people subscribed to digital Scripture Journeys through the app, helping ensure that they remain rooted in God’s Word long after returning to their home communities.

“At a time of global, national and political turmoil, seeing half a million young people gather in D.C. to pray was incredible,” says American Bible Society’s Managing Director of Mission U.S. Jason Malec. “Our priority is to help them encounter the living Christ in Scripture…What a profound opportunity.”

Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
