Network TV Spurs Bible Reading

A blog encourages viewers of "A.D. The Bible Continues" to engage with the Bible.

The NBC miniseries, “A.D.: The Bible Continues,” a dramatic retelling of the book of Acts, reached 9.5 million viewers during its 12-episode run this year. American Bible Society ran a series of blog posts based around each episode from the miniseries. The blog and corresponding social media campaign reached more than 72,000 individuals during the show’s run this year.

The recent study, “Millennials and the Bible,” revealed that 24 percent of 18-30 year olds who increased Bible reading last year attributed the increase to Bible-based TV shows like this one.
