“My Bible means a lot to me”

Orphans in Kenya found healing in the Bible

Faith* knows as well as anyone what it’s like to feel lonely and abandoned. At just four years old, she was living in an orphanage in Kenya.

“I hated being alone very much,” she says. “I had nobody to talk to or encourage me.”

So, when Faith received a Bible at her orphanage, provided by our generous partners, she was overjoyed.

“I was very happy when I received the Bible you sent me,” she says. “It helped me during the hard times when I was so lonely and gave me the encouragement I needed.”

Today, Faith is a young woman who has left the orphanage and is excited to enter college to become a teacher. But even in this new stage of her life, Faith continues to turn to her Bible for comfort.

“My Bible means a lot to me,” Faith says.

“Whenever I run into difficult situations, the best solution is reading the Bible. God knows all the details of my life and helps fix my problems.”
